Rule #3: Protect Your Peace. Biting Is Allowed. | Mildly Feral Advice

Rule #3: Protect Your Peace. Biting Is Allowed.

We’ll be honest - we went a little quiet.

Not because the chaos stopped.
Not because the cats calmed down.
But because sometimes you have to step back, hiss a little, and figure out what’s actually worth your energy.

Which brings us to Rule #3.

Protect your peace. Biting is allowed.

This rule isn’t about being mean. It’s about boundaries.
It’s about not explaining yourself to people who already decided not to listen.
It’s about choosing rest, joy, and your own damn sanity - even if that means showing your teeth.

Cats don’t overthink this stuff.
They nap when they’re tired.
They leave when they’re done.
And if something messes with their peace?
Well… chomp.

That energy felt especially right going into a new year.

Why Rule #3 exists

Rule #1 reminded us that some rules are meant to be shredded.
Rule #2 gave us permission to wreak havoc and sort it out later.

Rule #3 is the balance.
Chaos is fun - but peace is sacred.

You don’t owe constant access.
You don’t owe politeness at the expense of yourself.
You don’t owe an explanation for protecting what keeps you soft, creative, and alive.

Mildly feral doesn’t mean unhinged

It means:

  • choosing your battles
  • guarding your time
  • staying playful without being walked all over

Sometimes protecting your peace looks quiet.
Sometimes it looks like walking away.
And sometimes?

Biting is allowed.

We’re easing back into our Mildly Feral Rules this year - same cats, same chaos, clearer boundaries. More rules coming soon.

Until then: nap aggressively, hiss when needed, and don’t forget your teeth.

What’s next

Chaos got us moving.
Boundaries taught us when to stop.

Rule #4 is coming soon:
Nap culture is revolutionary.

Because rest isn’t laziness.
It’s recovery.
It’s resistance.
And honestly? The cats have been trying to tell us this the whole time.

Stay tuned.
