Frankie Said Meow: Mildly Feral Since Forever

Frankie Said Meow is a queer and women-owned indie brand built around one simple idea: chaos can be cute. What started as a collection of late-night jokes and weird slogans turned into a creative studio of mildly feral fashion, fueled by love, mischief, and two extremely dramatic cats.

The Origin Story (It’s a Little Unhinged)

We didn’t plan Frankie Said Meow. It just... happened.

In between late-night bar shifts, we’d make each other laugh with ridiculous one-liners- some of them made sense, most didn’t- and nearly all were inspired by our cats, Coqui and Francesca (that’s lil Frankie). These two are sweethearts, chaos goblins, and the true creative directors of this brand.

Coqui was the first spark. We found him in Rincón, Puerto Rico, stuck in a tire at barely a month old- covered in grease, mewing frantically and looking like a tiny squirrel. We washed him with Dawn dish soap (yes, like a baby duck in a commercial) and brought him home to Austin, Texas. A year later, Frankie joined the crew from a local shelter, and our little duo was complete.

Our vibe is part vintage streetwear, part cartoon cat energy, part “I don’t work here”. Everything is designed in-house, made with love, and crafted for weirdos, service industry survivors, queer creatives, and anyone who’s ever whispered, “I’m just a little guy.”

We believe in slow fashion, thoughtful production, and stuff that makes you smile (or get into a little trouble).

Who We Are Now

Now based in Ocean City, Maryland, we’re living our best semi-chaotic beach lives while building a brand that brings laughter, connection, and just the right amount of unhinged energy to your closet.
